Author's Review: Adam Bornstein & Born Fitness Coaching

Born Fitness is an innovative and all-encompassing health coaching business which, although it is operated virtually rather than in an office, gives off the impression of being very intense and professional. The fact that it is run by a single individual is what stood out most to me, and this feat could only have been made possible by the plethora of digital technologies and resources at the disposal of entrepreneurs today. Instant messaging makes communication with Bornstein through this program quick, easy, and effective, while also allowing Bornstein

to juggle a much larger clientele than he would be able to in a face-to-face setting. His hours are more flexible (you can contact him at any time of any day) and he can get information and feedback to clients faster than a face-to-face coach would be able to. The use of a large variety of digital spaces allows for the widespread circulation of Bornstein's content, which provides a solution to the information problem that the health and fitness industry is faced with, due to vast amounts of conflicting health claims being thrown at the public, by acting as a one-stop shop for valid health and fitness information—essentially, the Born Fitness website is an online nutrition and fitness magazine that Bornstein established himself after a career of writing and editing for so many other popular health magazines. It also allows Bornstein to reach an enormous audience thereby giving everyone access to the means of establishing a happier and healthier lifestyle and becoming the best version of themselves they can be.

Adam is a journalist, a best-selling author, and an award-winning editor of various health and fitness-related publications, who started his own company, Born Fitness, LLC, in 2011. ​

Although the entirety of his career since he entered the working world has been concentrated in the health and fitness industry, Adam did not receive any sort of degree in this field—he actually earned his Bachelor’s degree at the University of Colorado in Psychology and his Master’s degree in Journalism.

in this field?

Adam let his own personal health and fitness journey guide his career path when he finished his education. With no background in the field other than his personal experience in trying out countless diet and exercise methods for years, Adam worked his way up to the top in some of the most prestigious names in health publications including Men’s Health Magazine, LIVESTRONG.COM, SHAPE, and ESPN, until he had established himself as “one of the most influential writers in health and fitness” endorsed by such industry icons as Dr. Oz, SHAPE Magazine, Greatist, and Arnold Schwarzenneger. He also accumulated a loyal following through his personal blog and a vast audience of readers through his best-selling health and diet books. He worked with and learned from some of the most prestigious experts in the field until he became an expert himself—with no formal education or degree in any health or fitness subject! What's his approach?

Adam identified a need to provide people with the skills they need to be able to separate the scientifically-backed health claims from the fictional or unsupported ones, or at least to provide a resource that people could trust to present all of the valid nutrition and fitness information in one place. Essentially, his goal in creating Born Fitness was to filter out the crap and help people transform their health with the right information tailored to their unique individual preferences in order to make it easier for anyone, anywhere, to incorporate it into their daily lives, thereby enhancing their livelihood. ​

How does he utilize digital spaces to provide services and help make his business stand out?

The desire to make the achievement of a happy, healthy, and fit lifestyle possible for anyone and everyone who wants it is at the core of Adam's mission in starting Born Fitness.
