Hi! My name is Ashley Tweddle and I am currently a sophomore at Florida State University. I am currently double-majoring in Dietetics and Business--I came to college with ambitions to become a registered Dietetian so that I could someday open up my own sports nutrition practice specifically for dancers since I have been dancing my whole life. However, as I am starting to move away from the dancing part of my life and becoming more immersed in the broader category of fitness, I'm rethinking my career path a little bit. I'm starting to think that rather than working as a basic dietitian in an office all day, I would be much happier working in a setting such as a gym or other fitness center where I would be moving around and interacting with more people on a daily basis--that being said, I am now looking into changing my double major from Dietetics and Business to Dietetics and Exercise Science with a minor in Business, and my twin sister (who shares my passion for all things health and fitness) and I are discussing the possibility of someday opening our own gym, which would also offer nutritionist services. Health and Fitness has been a hobby of mine for years, so I have already been engaged in that sphere for quite some time. I already follow several of the most popular names in the industry on various social media accounts, and I receive daily or weekly newsletters from a few different health sites. However, now that I am thinking more deeply about the direction of my career, I need to take a closer look at those individuals who are currently doing what I hope to be doing in the future. What is their background in the field? How much experience do they have? What are their credentials? How have they made a name for themselves and distinguished themselves from others like them in the industry? I hope to answer these questions and more in the projects posted on this website in order to help me become a more active participant in the career side of the health and fitness world.
